Specifications
Walls – 220mm thick top quality vapour permeable membrane, modular timber structural insulated panel based system, adaptable yet very strong and solid. Externally clad in Canadian red cedar for a natural wood finish or Scandinavian pine painted in a superb range of colours. Walls are internally lined with a special self finished board from Scandinavia capable of taking high load fixings so shelving etc can easily be fitted to walls. An accessible cavity behind the lining takes wiring wherever it is required for a totally flexible electrical installation.
Floors – 175mm deep insulated factory made modular units which are designed so they will not flex or squeak
Foundations – The cabin stands on adjustable steel shoes that simply bear on specially designed pads. These are installed by our team so there is no foundation work required by the client except to ensure the ground is clear and level.
Roof – 175mm deep curved roof clad in the latest zinc coated aluminium with standing seams, this looks great and is a top quality solution designed to last a life time. Internally finished with exposed timber ribs to the underside creating a unique look and feel.
Insulation – 150mm thick. A combination of sheep wool and cellulose fibre is used for the walls, ceilings and floors. A top quality airtight barrier with variable vapour resistance is fitted which provides optimum internal conditions during winter or summer. The roof is also fitted with a foil layer to reflect solar gain and keep the building cool in summer.
Electrical – The standard installation includes 4 power points, an integrated quality lighting system and wall mounted panel heater. Other options are possible to suit you specific requirements.
Joinery – Doors and windows are top quality factory made with substantial sections in slow grown Scandinavian pine. Double glazing is to current building regulation standards and ironmongery is modern, ergonomic and a delight to the hand. All timber used is from FSC approved sustainable sources.
Decorations – Internally we suggest a subtle egg shell, matt white to all surfaces to give a clean and simple feel which will enhance the impression of calm space. Externally we offer a range of great looking environmentally appropriate colours that are also breathable, long lasting and durable.
